D.A. Electric was founded in 1975 by Del Allen, who built the company on a reputation for dependable work and straightforward dealing. Today, the business remains locally owned and operated, led by Doug Allen and Dustin Smith, who continue to run it on the same values Del established five decades ago: safety, quality, and showing up for the communities we work in.

Doug Allen
As President and a second-generation leader of the family business, Doug provides strategic direction while remaining closely connected to the company’s employees, clients, and projects. His leadership continues D.A. Electric’s longstanding commitment to quality workmanship, dependable service, and strong community relationships.
Dustin Smith
Dustin Smith oversees the day-to-day operations of D.A. Electric, helping coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources across the company’s diverse projects. Since becoming a partner in 2022, Dustin has played an important role in the company’s continued growth, supporting its teams while ensuring clients receive the dependable service and quality workmanship D.A. Electric is known for.
Steven Ellis
Steven Ellis is a Master Electrician with extensive experience in the electrical industry. As a Project Manager, he oversees estimating, planning, coordination, and cost control for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Steven combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, solutions-focused approach to keep projects organized and successfully moving forward.
Derek Brown
Derek Brown manages electrical projects across the commercial, institutional, and healthcare sectors. He coordinates scheduling, procurement, site requirements, and project costs while maintaining clear communication with clients, consultants, and field personnel. Derek’s organized and practical approach helps keep complex projects progressing safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Jay Burgwal
With more than three decades of industry experience, Jay Burgwal brings extensive product knowledge and trusted supplier relationships to his role as Purchasing Manager. He coordinates material procurement, pricing, and delivery requirements across D.A. Electric’s projects, helping ensure field teams have the right materials and equipment when they need them.
Brad Hansen
As Accounts Manager, Brad Hansen helps oversee the financial administration of D.A. Electric’s projects and daily operations. Working closely with clients, suppliers, and the company’s project management team, Brad helps keep billing and account documentation accurate, organized, and moving efficiently.
TJ Torgunrud
TJ Torgunrud is a Master Electrician who has been in the electrical industry since 2009. As an Estimator, TJ develops detailed and competitive pricing for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. His practical understanding of electrical construction helps identify project requirements, potential challenges, and cost-effective solutions before work begins.
Ty Bodnar
As an Estimator, Ty Bodnar prepares detailed takeoffs, pricing, and tender submissions for a wide range of underground utility projects, with particular experience supporting subdivision, infrastructure, and underground-servicing opportunities. Ty’s careful approach helps D.A. Electric provide accurate, competitive proposals while accounting for the practical requirements of construction.
Terri Codd
Terri Codd supports D.A. Electric’s employees and management team through a wide range of administrative and office responsibilities. She helps coordinate employee information, internal programs, and day-to-day communications, providing knowledgeable and dependable support that keeps the company’s operations organized.
Kristy Graveland
Kristy Graveland is often the first point of contact at D.A. Electric, and the friendly, knowledgeable voice clients hear when they call. She supports the company’s day-to-day financial administration by processing payments, assisting with account inquiries, and maintaining accurate financial records. Her attention to detail helps keep the office running smoothly and professionally.
Lauren Olinek
Lauren Olinek supports D.A. Electric’s underground utility projects and field teams throughout the construction process. She helps coordinate project documentation, submittals, schedules, and procurement information, and communication between project stakeholders.
